The Op Shop Variety Ball

Revellers from all walks of life, including celebrities, socialites and drag queens will don their most glamorous charity shop finds from vintage fashions to the most outrageous second-hand outfits, all while striking a  post on the red carpet to raise funds for sick, disadvantaged and special needs children.

While a sell out crowd descended onto Sydney's Sky Tower for last year's event, this year's anniversary event at Town Hall is  expected to be even bigger and attract up to 500 people in the hope of raising $50k for Aussie kids in need.

The stylish event will kick off at 7.00pm, with MC Mike Goldman and will feature a host of out-of-the-box entertainment as revellers vie for the coveted titles of Mr and Ms Op Shop Ball. A special early bird ticket price of $120 and includes unlimited food and drinks for the entire evening.  Entertainment will include a special performance from The Faders,  Paulini,  Curuenavuli and Arrnott Olssen.

Bowerbird update and beautiful retro inspired swimwear!

It's been a while since I posted anything because things have been so hectic.

So many things have changed recently. The big news is that the lovely Kim from Vintage on Bay has taken over Bowerbird Vintage now and has the site looking amazing with some truly gorgeous vintage dresses, party frocks, hats and accessories. You must visit!

Kim will also take over the blogging duties soon to discuss all things vintage. I'll make the occasional guess appearance :)

Another great retro inspired site you must check out is Betty Diamond. Betty Diamond designer, Helen Hooper creates the most beautiful retro inspired swimwear. The material and the halter neck, boy leg styles are simply so flattering and the best part is they suit the womanly figure perfectly. It's so hard to find gorgeous, plus sized swimsuits.

Well done Helen. We Love!

Vintage Inspiration

I know she's everywhere these days and cited as just about every fashion editor, blogger and clothes crazy girls inspiration, but I really love Alexa Chung's style. Of course it helps to have an exquisite face, whip thin body and amazingly long legs - She can basically wear whatever she likes and still look gorgeous and completely fashion forward (to women anyway, my male friends think she might benefit from a good feed)

She does do vintage spendidly and has a knack for the old/new mashup like no-one else. I love her penchant for Peter-pan collars and MaryJane's and some of the vintage dresses she has whipped out this year at various photo ops have been seriously fabulous. Let's have a looky:

Vogue Australia

You simply must check out the amazing kaleidoscope of colour madness that is March Vogue. A little crazy...A little vintage circa 1970's and guaranteed to put a smile on your face.
We adore!
